6 months pregnant! Can’t believe it!
I still haven’t gotten that second trimester kick of energy everyone talks about. I spent this week really tired and really hungry. I’m hoping this is because baby is growing big and strong!
With the cold winter air, my skin (and everything else) has been so dry, we have the humidifier cranked every night. Mostly, I’m ready for spring!
As we get closer to due day it’s fun to start talking baby stories with our parents. We love hearing stories from when we were younger and everything we have to look forward to (the good and the bad) 🙂 The excitement is only building as J and I imagine cuddling and squishing our new addition to the family. Two of my best friends are due 6 – 7 weeks before me, so I have their new babies to look forward to first, and then I can focus on my own!! So much excitement in the next three months!
We celebrated Valentines Day with a low key night at home, we cooked steak and sweet potatoes, turned on the newest season of House of Cards and vegged out on the couch. Josh serenaded us with some guitar tunes while baby danced along. It was a perfectly relaxing night!
I spent a few days this week with my belly really really tight. Uncomfortably tight, as if my stomach was going to implode. I’m assuming my belly is just making room for baby, but boy was it stretching!
We went to Buy Buy Baby to pick up some shower gifts for my many preggo friends and once again walked around the endless aisles of bottles, nipples and strollers. Still 6 months in I can’t believe how much stuff they say you need for baby. As a first time mama I honestly have no idea, but am consistently overwhelmed every time I walk into Buy Buy Baby with how many different things line their aisles.
Before visiting Buy Buy Baby we made sure baby and mama were happy and full with a big lunch at Jason’s Deli next door. While typically I order the healthy salad with protein, like I mentioned above I’ve been hungry recently! I opted for the Mediterranean Panini that had chicken breast, pesto and veggies on it. Delicious! Mom was ready to shop!
Size of Baby E: Canteloupe.
Best moment of the week: Josh and I had an awesome weekend together. It was Valentines day, so 11 years ago we started officially dating back in high school! We had a lazy couch weekend, with a marathon of House of Cards on Netflix, played some chess and Josh played a lot of guitar for me and baby. It was perfect!
Obsessions/Cravings? Cereal and Cheese. I could eat these two foods all day every day and be content until baby comes!
What I’m most looking forward to this week: Our Zeta Baby shower! All of the girls are getting together and throwing me and two of my best friends, who are also pregnant, a big three way baby shower! We are all due within 1.5 months of each other and I’m so excited to celebrate with them! Looking forward to sharing photos next week!
What I miss the most: Wine.
Workouts: We started P90X this week. Josh and I try to do p90x every winter, mostly because we hate leaving our apartment in the cold! So I am going to start writing on Fitcee Fitness about how to regress each exercise for preggos in their second trimester – stay tuned: P90x for Pregnancy!
Sleep: My goal for sleep is to get in bed as early as possible so I’m ‘in bed’ as much as possible and hopefully sometime in those 9 – 10 hours i’m in bed, I actually get some sleep. But in reality I toss and turn most nights and have weird crazy dreams about washing all of my clothes on high heat and everything shrinking and wake up tired.
Movement: Lots of movement! Flips and kicks and punches, all letting me know that the little person in there is getting stronger every day 🙂 I love the constant movement, It makes me smile every time E wiggles in there.
Symptoms: Hungry all the time. 6 months in and I’m finally hungry! For the first 24 weeks I wasn’t craving much of anything and really had no desire to do much eating (despite my constant increase in weight) and finally these past few weeks I have been so so hungry. Non stop eating small meals throughout the day. I’m thinking baby is on another growth spurt!
A few days this week I spent the day with an extremely tight, hard stomach – and I’m not talking becasue I have a 6 pack ab situation going on. I got to see the inside of my belly button because of how tight my stomach was. Maybe this was part of the growth spurt? but whatever it was it was super uncomfortable all day!
The typical Pregnancy pee symptom, but I feel that E is sitting on my bladder so although I have a big urge to pee, I get there and nothing comes out. I used the comparison of turning on a hose full blast, but then keeping your foot stepped on it so the water only trickes out. TMI? Probably.
