At 23 Weeks it is starting to hit me how our life is expanding…
Not only is my waistline expanding, but so is our budget. Our stuff is expanding as we pick up new necessities for baby. We haven’t owned a car in 6 years, and we are now the proud owners of a great Altima. Our health insurance coverage expanded as we needed maternity care.
And most importantly, our hearts are expanding as we get ready to welcome a third into our family. It amazes me the amount of love that we have and how it is growing every day for a baby we haven’t even met yet.
So, what did we do this week?
We returned from our 2 week babymoon to below zero temperatures. It was definitely a shock to the system as we boarded the plane at 87 degrees and arrived in Indiana at 0 degrees. Luckily no one got sick.
Since being home it’s been a lot of catching up on work we put off for 2 weeks. I can’t wait to catch up so we can start thinking about fun things (aka baby stuff).
The doctor called after my 20 week blood work and informed me my thyroid numbers were slightly out of whack so now despite my attempt to stay perfectly healthy during my pregnancy I’m on a new pill. I just remind myself during pregnancy, your body is stressed to the extreme and is not your own. I trust my doctor and am glad to be taking care of it and giving my body what it needs to get through the next few months.
Size of Baby E: I’m sticking with Papaya size for this week.
Best moment of the week: While on Grand Cayman Island we had the taxi driver drop us at the north end of 7 mile beach (which is really only 5.5) and walked back to the cruise ship. It took us a little over 3 hours, but the water was unbelievably beautiful, the sand perfect and overall was such a relaxing walk!
Obsessions/Cravings? No food cravings this week, I would say generally I haven’t been having insane cravings during this pregnancy. Mostly I’ll see something and really want it… but I’ll never go as far as to actually get it 🙂
What I’m most looking forward to this week: Valentines Day 🙂 Ok, call me a cheesy romantic. I get it, it’s a hallmark holiday. But Valentines Day is the day Josh and I started dating (back in 2003) and the day he asked me to marry him (2007) – so while everyone else will be out wining and dining, we will be home cooking together celebrating our ‘dating’ anniversary 🙂 It’s been an awesome 11 years.
What I miss the most:
Workouts: While on vacation I was proud of us, we still got up every morning and either went to the gym or got out on the track on the cruise and ran. I feel great so far physically during this pregnancy, it’s been nice being as active as I am despite the cold winter temps!
Sleep: Sleep still consists of a lot of flipping from side to side to get comfortable. I dont know how much actual sleep I get in, but I make sure I go to bed early so I’m at least in bed for a long time with the potential to sleep.
Movement: Josh can feel Baby E on a regular basis now, almost every night I would fall asleep with his hand on my stomach while he moves and shakes.
Symptoms: Nothing new this week. same old same old.

You look amazing!! Love that black and white dress- I can’t wait for some warm weather and to break out some Maxis, I guess I may need to add to my collection of 1 pregnancy dress I have bought so far : ) I am in the middle of 20 weeks and feel the baby but still isn’t terribly consistent- just curious when you were able to feel him on a regular basis… I know everyone is different but I can’t wait for the regularity of it!
