December is always a long month for us! It is both chaotic and wonderful… and long so I’ll keep my words short and let the photos tell the story so you can get through this post before the end of the day.
We started the month with a lot of excitement – we were visiting Santa!!!
… and then we realized what visiting Santa meant and weren’t so excited.
But we recovered quickly with a trip to Christmas at the Zoo where we saw thousands of lights and fun animals for the evening. We were again excited for Christmas.
Fast forward to 6 days before Christmas, we celebrated mama’s 30th Birthday!
Mom and dad got dressed up to go out and go on an actual adult date! (yay!)
and then we got a call a few hours later saying our baby girl spiked a 102 fever … (happy birthday mom!)
After a very low-key 30th birthday weekend spent snuggling baby girl her fever was down and back to her sassy-self.
We did the normal toddler stuff to pass the time until Christmas morning arrived! We could hardly contain our excitement!
We did all of our favorite puzzles a few hundred times.
Baked one million cookies.
Stuck stickers to every place in the house that could handle it.
and there was definitely a lot of play-doh being played with.
And finally it was Christmas Eve!!! Excitement overload again. Christmas is so much more fun with little ones!
We attempted to get a family photo. Nice try, maybe next year.
Our superhero cousins met us out to exchange gifts.
Great Grandma gave Lottie her first few gifts to get the party started.
Lots of coloring books and crayons. Great job GiGi!
We went home and read our Christmas Eve bedtime stories.
and then we did the obligatory parental duty of assembling all of Santa’s gifts the night before.
She woke up a happy girl! Pace yourself baby girl, we have a long day ahead!
Mimi and Papi met us over at our house for the first round of Christmas fun and breakfast to fuel the day.
She got a trampoline which she proceeded to hop on for the rest of the morning. (Luckily it helped her sleep very well!)
And she got a cell phone, in hopes of her not needing to play with moms constantly.
After nap we headed out in our family onesies to visit mimi and papi and aunts and uncles to continue the Christmas happiness.
Early morning obligatory family selfie
We exchanged more gifts with family.
Had a yummy brunch together.
and Funcle (“Fun-Uncle”) Al helped Lottie get a closer look at the tall Christmas tree.
The final gift was waiting for Lottie in the other room! Mimi and Papi had an adorable Classic PB Kitchen waiting for Lottie, fully equipped with every pot and pan and kitchen appliance you can imagine.
This kept Lottie busy for a very long time.
At the end of the day, needless to say, Lottie was more than just a little tired.
We made it!
A long, eventful and fabulous month spent with friends and family celebrating.
Until next December!
