Stay healthy throughout your pregnancy!
You’re gaining a pound a week, your body is changing in ways you never imagined and now I am asking you to squat? During my pregnancy exercise was the one thing that made me feel normal. Getting my heart pumping and muscles burning helped me feel strong and alive, and I love passing that feeling on to soon-to-be-moms.
Most moms come to me 6 months to a year BEFORE they start trying to get pregnant.
This is so you can begin building up your endurance and fitness level before pregnancy. Once you are pregnant you can continue comfortably at a more advanced level with your doctors OK. If you are new to exercise don’t worry, we’ll start slower, not shocking your body with difficult routines, but still building muscle and improving your endurance to help with a healthier pregnancy.
You don’t run a marathon without training. Labor is incredibly physically taxing on your body, and in order to have a healthy pregnancy you need to start training from day 1.
Exercise during pregnancy isn’t about pushing yourself to your limits, it’s about keeping your body moving, stretching and help manage your weight gain. Labor gets easier as you get stronger and your body is able to handle the stress that is put on it during the different stages of labor.
Gone is the idea that all women need to keep their heartrate under 140 bpm. Every woman has a unique heartrate so the best indicator to manage your fitness exertion is the talk test. Continually check to see if you can talk through your exercises to gauge if you are over exerting yourself and help keep you at a healthy level for you and baby.
