We got hooked on Trader Joes when we lived in Chicago. It was down the street and it was an easy, friendly grocery store to get in and out of. I easily get overwhelmed by the 100 options of peanut butter and equally as many options of cheese at the big box grocery stores. I like Trader Joes because I can walk in and find a few good options and get out of the store in 20 minutes. Here are a few of our favorite items at TJ’s that we don’t leave the store without!
Crunchy, Unsalted Peanut Butter
I like that the ingredients read: peanuts. I don’t like anything else in my peanut butter.
Toscano Cheese, Black Pepper
This is probably my all time favorite go-to cheese. I know big statement, but this cheese is good.
Mediterranean Hummus
Simple and delicious.
Sesame Honey Almonds
If you like regular almonds, you will love these sesame honey almonds, they’re addicting.
Turkey Meatballs
Ok, this isn’t a list of the healthiest items at Trader Joes, but these Turkey meatballs have become Josh and I’s easy freezer meal. We don’t eat food out of the freezer often (if ever) except for these meatballs. We simply defrost them and put BBQ sauce on them…. voila, dinner!
Vintage Ale
This is Josh’s favorite seasonal beer. The Vintage Ale only comes out around the holidays and we usually stock up on a few bottles. We let them sit a year while we drink the bottles from the previous year. Good, cheap beer to try!
Christmas Teas
Josh goes for the vintage ale, I load up on the Christmas teas. The Vanilla and Cinnamon is great when you need a caffeine kick, and the candy cane green tea is perfect to end your night while you are relaxing in front of the fire. I have more boxes of these two teas than I want to admit in my pantry.
There you have it, my staples at Trader Joes.
What can’t you leave the store without buying? Anything new I should try next time I stop by?
