1. Who are you?
My name is Michelle, I’m a homeschooling, fitness loving, coffee chugging, mom of 2 married to a police officer. We have 3 dogs, love the outdoors, board games, wrestling and movie nights. I run a FB and IG page dedicated to making moms laugh, fitness follies and real life mayhem on Zumba with Michelle Phillips. I’m a newly licensed Zumba instructor working hard to practice my Zumba choreo with 2 littles at my feet.
This video is a perfect example of what working out with kids is REALLY like!

2. What is your favorite time of day?
My favorite time of day is definitely naptime! It’s when I get to spend 1 on 1 time with my 6 year for school and enjoy a cup of coffee (which at this point has probably been reheated at least 6 times).
3. What is your most chaotic time of day?
Just one?! Bedtime for sure! My husband typically gets home around bedtime which adds a whole new element to the chaos as they rush to the door for hugs and tickles before getting wrangled back to bed (all hyped up because of Dad I might add).
4. What is your mom chaos confession?
Sometimes dinner at our house is a compilation of cheese, crackers, fruit, and lunch meat while watching a movie. The kids think is a special treat but really it’s because I need to clean the house and get laundry done without being interrupted 7 million times.
5. What is your best tip for managing chaos?
USE A CROCKPOT for dinner. Even if it’s just for the meat. It’s a revolution.
6. What does a typical day in your chaos look like?
7ish– wake up to a little person staring at me asking for a banana.
715– silently thank God for a timer on the coffee maker so I can enjoy a cup while making breakfast for the hobbits and letting dogs outside.
Take 5 seconds to admire the hubby looking studly in his uniform as we send him off to work with love and lunch.
9am– rush out the door because chances are good wherever we are going we running late! We are typically headed to MOMS Club events, the YMCA, errands, the library or museum, or other activities geared towards the kids
1130– make lunch and messes with the assistance of 2 eager learners.
1230– quick clean up time and nap for Jack, the 2 year old terror.
1- School with Aubrey my kindergartener! Reading, writing, math, science. She loves to learn, but doesn’t like to listen. Sometimes school has both of us in tears.
4- the witching hour. Jack is now and begging for snacks while Aubrey is begging for her tablet. I’m exhausted and ready for a nap, but instead we all head outside after a pre-dinner 3 course snack.
530– dinner is served and the bedtime chaos ensues with baths, chasing naked children with pajamas, toothbrushing, picking out clothes for the next day, reading books, clean up time and bed.
730- BEDTIME!!!!! I say that with too much excitement, don’t I?
Depending on the night my hubby might be home but most likely he is still at work. I clean up the messes from the day, take a shower and eventually kick my feet up to watch Grey’s, This is Us or play on Pinterest- if I’m feeling really wild Red Wine is also involved. His schedule is very unpredictable and adds a whole new level to family chaos. When he is home we all snuggle up for movies and popcorn on the sectional.
Our life may be chaotic and crazy, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
