1. Who are you?
Hello, my name is Ashlea.
I’m a first time stay at home mom. I have one son who is a 16 month old tornado. I run a mommy blog www.mommywifelifestyle.com. Before I had my son I was attending college working on my bachelors degree in finance to become a financial analyst. I will be returning to college this summer to finish my last year and a half.
I love electronics, reading romance books, cooking, video games, and traveling. If I could travel every month I would as is we go on 3 to 4 trips a year, toddler in tow.
2. When is your favorite time of day?
My favorite time of day would have to be right before nap time, at least most of the time. My son just cuddles up against me and looks so happy and content. I just love those snuggles.
3. When is your most chaotic time of day?
My most chaotic time of day is the morning. I am not a morning person what so ever. Before my son, I would wake up at noon and go to sleep at 3 am. I now wake up at 8am and still go to bed at 3am. My son on the other hand is like a energizer bunny in the morning.
4. What is your mom chaos confession?
My mom chaos confession is I sometimes participate in it. As I see it either way I have to clean it up at the end of the day so might as well have fun.
5. What is your best tip for managing the chaos?
Just go with the flow. If you are constantly worrying about the chaos it will just make it worse.
6. What does a typical day in your chaos look like?
8:30am: My son wakes up and demands attention. We do diaper change, have a quick nursing session, and then go to the living room to watch some morning cartoons. This is the only time of day besides nap time where he will sit still.
9am: My husband or I start to prepare breakfast. I am much slower at preparing breakfast as I am usually not fully awake at this time. I really am not a morning person
9:30am: We sit down together to eat breakfast. We’ll we eat breakfast while my toddler throws half of it all over the dining/kitchen area. He is starting to throw further each day. Nothing we say or do will get him to stop but if you take his tray he will just start crying and trying to get out of his high chair.
10am: Breakfast clean up. I start doing the dishes, wiping down counters, cleaning the high chair, and tempt to get my sons food explosion cleaned up.
11am: Play time: We run around playing. Well more like I am chasing my son all over the apartment trying to keep him out of stuff. For someone so young he sure is fast and intelligent. He loves to cause mischief.
12:30pm: Lunch time: We have a quick lunch before he has to take a nap.
1:30-3:30pm: Naptime. My son takes a nap for at least 45 minutes to two hours if I am lucky.
4pm: Afternoon playtime unless errands need to be run.
6:15pm: Dinner time: I start preparing dinner to have it done by 7 for my son to eat dinner before bed.
7:45pm: Bedtime. We start getting everything ready for bed whether he is getting a bath or getting story time. We then lotion him up in his eczema lotion put him in his pajamas. Then we lay down together for him to nurse to sleep before being moved to his crib.
8:30pm: Clean up the apartment from the day’s chaos.
10pm: I start working on my blog. Editing posts, editing pictures, replying to comments, working on new posts, and etc. I am usually drinking coffee and watching tv at the same time.
12:30am: My son is still not sleeping through the night so gets up to have a quick nursing session before being put back in his crib.
2am: I finally start getting ready for bed and making sure I have everything in order for the next days chaos.
3am: Goodnight
